This lovely ranch home in Atlanta received a major renovation / expansion in 2009. In 2012 the homeowners were ready to refresh the interior of the formal areas of their home, including the Foyer, Living, and Dining rooms, and their outdoor Living Spaces. The majority of the case-pieces and upholstered pieces would remain, and supplemental pieces / accessories / lighting would be incorporated. The concept was to simplify and lighten the space, and add some more contemporary elements, giving a more transitional and updated feel. This was achieved in the following ways: • Lightening the wall color. • Replacing existing patterned rugs with lighter, textural sisal rugs. • Reupholstering the Sofa and Settee with light neutral fabrics and creating simpler, cleaner detailing in the upholstery design. • Adding punches of blue, green, gray, and yellow / gold in the pillows, runners, and accessories. • Incorporating modern decorative lighting selections in a more substantial scale. • Eliminating clutter by minimizing accessories, and reusing / supplementing with new clean-lined pieces.
