Nestled deep in a plush lot overlooking a babbling stream, a professional Atlanta couple...he an attorney, she an author, filled their vintage 1960's home with their passions ...a collage of books and antique rugs that they had collected during their years of travel. They were ready for a change, and embarked on a journey to reinvent their home in a way that would embrace their passions.

The approach to their house was simple. They wanted a home that would offer glimpses into their past, present, and future. The design would be a hybrid of North (their early years) and South (their home as adults), mixing a Cape Cod vernacular with a wonderful Southern wrap-around porch. The heart of the home would be a traditional, cherry wood library, showcasing their extensive collection of books. The interior wall space would be designed as a showcase for their rug collection. Additional book and rug display would be incorporated in the Upstairs Gallery and Master Bedroom Suite.

The eat-in Kitchen would be an homage to their travels to france, from floor to ceiling, literally. This Kitchen would be created with reclaimed French terra cotta tile floors, custom Cherry cabinets with Statuary marble tops, and rustic Cedar Beams. A wonderful flea market find ...a quirky mismatched pair of iron chandeliers, would serve to create two intimate seating areas at their antique farmhouse table.

The Master Bath incorporates vintage hex-tiled porcelain flooring with a subway tile wainscot topped with a Carrera marble ledge. Two classically styled pedestal sinks flank an antique dresser with a custom Carrera marble top. The deep soaking bath, surrounded by corner windows, is flooded with light. An over scaled arched window frames both the dresser and the vintage pewter chandelier, and offers a glimpse into the courtyard and gardens beyond.
